What digitalknight said, but I'll add that I kinda like it this way. It has a neat feel to it, and she has a great smile. The softness makes it seem like she's a bit shy, but not when you get to know her.

I think your aperture was wide open and you were standing close to her - how's my guess?

See how sharp the "south" on the shirt is, but her face is soft. So your camera focused on the shirt, but the aperture was wide open so the DOF was too shallow to pick up her face.

Is your camera set to focus on the closest subject? Maybe that's it.

Shooting this at f/11 might have given enough DOF to catch her face too.

Great timing on this though - love her expression.
