Catbirdby MaryOComment by scottieham: I love the bokeh here as well. I am a huge fan of bokeh. I like his head-tilt, and I like how the perch is diagonal across the frame. I like these birds, they typically will let me get fairly close :) The image seems to have a greenish tint to me, even on the bird. |

The Boy Next Doorby MaryOComment by Melethia: An excellent portrait and very much a boy next door kinda thing, though he could easily be the model next door as well. |

Little Grasshopperby MaryOComment by MelonMusketeer: This is a nice example of the right DOF. Your 28-75 has an aperture ring, so it should work with your ext tubes. You can stack the tubes and get even tighter on small subjects. The older manual Nikkor AI lenses are great with ext tubes, and a lot less expensive than the new lenses.
I like the way the DOF puts the focus right on it's head in this shot. |

Little Grasshopperby MaryOComment by MacDonald: What a cute little guy Mary ... I have no idea what type he is either... sure looks tiny and fragile .. I never used extention tubes .. they are greek to me - one day I would like to find out more about them - hope someone can identify him for you. |

Catbirdby MaryOComment by MacDonald: Just a beautiful shot altogether Mary ... he does indeed have his eye on you but it's the b/g that just makes this shot stand out ...... very well done! |

Catbirdby MaryOComment by MelonMusketeer: The shallow DOF is very right for this. The POV gives a nice perspective of the subject. Good shot. |
