Good show Jason!

I use the showman's way of starting the BBQ. Turn on the gas, step back, light a match and throw it in. Wooof! I did this one day and about 5 seconds later a mouse jumps up on the side of the BBQ, down on to the ground, and off into the bushes. I'm still not sure who was the most surprised out of the two of us.

Chipmunk should be marinated before grilling. But he's so cute I'd hate to eat him. You caught a great pose. Good composition. You probably didn't have much control over the lighting, but the way the top of the grill is lit works well. A little sharpening might enhance the texture of the critter's fur.

Good black and white image. The tonal rage is very good. I like that the main subject is up high in the frame instead of down low as is in most of the images in the challenge.
