Roses are pretty, especially the center blossom. However, the overlay you chose doesn't fit well, in my opinion. It's too harsh for a typical rose shot, and yet not harsh enough if you're really trying to contrast a grungy look with the "soft" subject. The underlying shot is a good base for this sort of effect, just maybe try a different, grungier overlay.
