selective desaturation!!, I'm guessing a relative new photographer or editor it happens to us all and I've been guilty of it in the past. and it doesn't go down well on dpc. it can work incredible well, see what speilberg and Janusz Kamiński did with the girl in the red coat in shindler's list etc, but the missed focus on the stamen then the rash of colour isn't helping sell this to me.

Shot strikes me as very busy and nothing to really focus on. Good idea though.

I've been kicking around the idea of what is art. I'm one of those sorely lacking in any formal background. To me, art is something that transcends the norm. Something that makes you feel, think -- something that intrigues you, makes you want to go back and explore deeper and deeper and deeper. Something that haunts you.

That being said, I'm sorry, but this doesn't work for me. Selective desat is so hard to do effectively. I'm thinking that the orange maybe is too bright? it just draws you in, but doesn't go anywhere. The background is extremely busy, but again, there's not much in the busy to make you want to explore. The lighting is quite harsh and is distracting. It's an interesting effort, but falls flat for me.

Sorry...

A little desat goes a long way, doesn't it?

From that angle and the way the light is reacting, this could be on the moon.

Abstract snow.. the red stands out. I'm predicting a 5.4 though I think it's better,.

I like the pattern of red and white, but I did not feel any emotion or connection to the reason for this image, and it was a bit too geometric for me to love as an abstract.

I like the red, black and white, the patterns of the fence. Want the perspective corrected for some reason. Gave it a five, predict a 4.7.
