Into the Nightby levyj413Comment by mpeters: I like how the Washington Monument helps delineate the light and dark. My only complaint from a time lapse perspective is that the lower part of each side seem similar light intensity. The capital building to the right of the monument is darker so the time lapse is evident, just not obvious. Maybe this is Jeffrey's and you are being subtle. :)
After having this comment open on my desktop for 5 minutes I've come to this conclusion. The three main buildings appear to be about the same intensity, making the gradient in the sky hard to believe. I'd love to see a few twinkling stars to liven up the RH side. I almost deleted the comment because I am having trouble being clear and concise with my words. I'll check later to see if a DPC wordsmith gave it a better comment. :) |

Into the Nightby levyj413Comment by JuliBoc: Nice smooth transition. I notice a vertical line to the right of the Washington Monument the might be blended a little better. No big deal, but it sort of gives away the fact that this is a blend of multiple images. Nice idea and pretty scene. |

Daddy?by levyj413Comment by Bear_Music: This one works very well for me. It has a strong kinship to Posthumous's image. The noise is a definite plus IMO. Overall, it's eerie and horror-movieish, which is a compliment coming from me. I love B-movies :-) |

Into the Nightby levyj413Comment by BHuseman: I like the fact that you have done a wonderdul job of blending the different shots. So many of these HDTR's are left with hard lines that detract from the overall view of the photo. You have managed to avoid that and I think that is awesome.
Composition wise, this is just awesome. The two monuments with the capital building in it really show what Washington is about. My only quip would be the building being cut off on the right of the Washington monument.
Still, this is a great shot, it fits the challenge well and is one of the best HDTR's I have seen. 8 |

Into the Nightby levyj413Comment by Quasimojo: Very nice shot - the large amount of clear sky provides a lovely backdrop to these iconic buildings and moves the focus to them and away from the sky (often the sky overpowers if it's too interesting with stars). For me I'd like to see the buildings with a little more definition, maybe reduce the highlights or up the shadows as they feel just a tad overexposed...but it's a beatiful shot as is. |
