MinimalDay3Editedby cogeroxComment by Bruce_the_Robert: Wonderful processing; I love what you've done, and how the image has turned out. I think the lamb might be a bit bright considering the rest of the image, but it really doesn't detract from the whole. Thanks for the complete picture of your processing, it's really helpful and gives me enough detail so that I can try and play with similar techniques. |

MinimalDay1EditedWeb2.jpgby cogeroxComment by Bruce_the_Robert: You've asked for "critical" comments, so I'm trying to be very nit-picky here. This is very, very well processed, especially considering the lighting in the original image. Such a difference in shades of color and light, with great effect on the whole. The lines still work well, and I pick them up more now, even moving through the trees (which are also nicely aligned), and which I didn't get from the original. I'm still left wondering if a more panoramic shot would work better, cropped longer and shorter (the foreground seems a little extensive for me, and if you cut it a bit, it might actually draw the image within the rule of thirds: bottom third planted rows; middle third trees and hills; top third sky -- but that might not work out). That's all I can think of, and it really is picky stuff! Nicely done. |

MinimalDay3Editedby cogeroxComment by MelonMusketeer: By looking and reading the comments about your processing, I can see what has been done, and how it affected the finished image. Very good description of the steps used to get the finished image, and it was effective in bringing the visual impact up a lot.
I wonder what made the very strange 5 toed tracks across the tree trunk on the left?

MinimalDay1EditedWeb2.jpgby cogeroxComment by Melethia: Great job bringing out the warmth of the natural colors. Very good work using selections and handling those as needed - something I need to work on. The only thing I can see that I might change is the dark area of the sky in the upper left - it's naturally there (it's in the original) but it is a bit distracting because it's such a small area. The section on the right is fine. |

MinimalDay2EditedWeb1.jpgby cogeroxComment by Melethia: I do like the crop, and I like the reflections. Multiply can work wonders with shots, can't it? Just try not to let it get too dark, which it can sometimes. I think you balanced it pretty well here. |

MinimalDay2EditedWeb1.jpgby cogeroxComment by MelonMusketeer: I like the crop, and the reflections are great. Somehow the left bird lost the black hooked part of it's beak into the tree behind with the processing. That's not a big point, but just something that seeems missing, as I am familiar with how the birds look. Usually in pics, their very bright eyes show up strongly too. I am wondering if these are the real thing? There are 5 species, and 3 major types in addition to the more common plastic yard variety. |
