Do Not Enter: Private Propertyby brandongouveiaComment by temba: Terrific potential with this shot, but I'm not sure it's capitalised on it totally. The central composition is a bit disinteresting and the overall feel a bit soft. Love the idea of the lighting though. |

Do Not Enter: Private Propertyby brandongouveiaComment by Coley: Ravenshoe and Warden ... I shot the same house. I shot it from the other side also at nite.
What a classic ruin. It is my new favorite place. I actually tried the same lighting. I wish you could have cropped out the lites from the factory left. This is a good image otherwise. Good luck |

Dodge Viperby brandongouveiaComment by atupdate: Hello from the Critique Club:
Since I couldn̢۪t vote in this challenge, this is the first time I̢۪ve had a chance to look at your image. My first impression was that this was a nice image of a toy car and that it would probably score around a 5. You did a nice job with the lighting and you tried to make the image interesting with the shallow depth of focus. As you can see from the comments you received, the shallow depth of focus is a love it or hate it kind of effect. Toys don̢۪t score very well at DPC unless it is for a toy related challenge or the image is exceptionally creative. This is even truer for a challenge where the voters expect to see a real car in an ad type setting. Overall, the subject matter (toy), composition (straight on), and lack of dramatic lighting created an image that is good but not exciting and easy for the voter to give it a 5 and move on.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this critique.
Tim
