CheckMateby RefreshComment by Prof_Fate: Hmm, borderline meeting challenge, but i'll agree it does. Hoever, the color is not great and the contrast, well, it's terrible. Seem noisy too. You need some work on your post production. |

CheckMateby RefreshComment by L1: Image seems noisy and lacking in contrast. Concept is good, but I think execution could be a bit better. Composition seems busy and crowded; maybe a lower angle or different slant of the board might help. Chess boards and pieces are difficult to shoot and make them look dynamic. I appreciate the effort. |

CheckMateby RefreshComment by PDXKim: The tone of this image feels murky to me (vs. warm). I like the perspective and the arrangment of the pieces. The eye is drawn directly to the felled black king. Alas, I feel the challenge intended to be a *sports* venue (athletic game) not the broader game. |

CheckMateby RefreshComment by smyk: HEHE, the way the pieces are set up doesn't even make it a check mate. nice perspective. |

CheckMateby RefreshComment by fracman: Nice try on challenge interpretation, but the execution didn't make it work. The contrast is way too flat, particularly for an indoor shot like this, and it looks to have a yellow-greenish cast to it. I know this is nit-picky, but having played chess, I can't think of a way the pieces could have gotten into this layout, and in the way I'm used to playing, the captured pieces would be on opposite sides (white player keeps black pieces, and vice-versa). With a couple things fixed, though, this would have been a nice shot. |

CheckMateby RefreshComment by dleach: Not sure how that became check mate with the queen and rook on the same line... seems like the king could move up to line 7. |

CheckMateby RefreshComment by glad2badad: A bit of a contrived "end game" but the approach to the theme challenge works well. The image itself is somewhat grainy and flat (could use some noise reduction and added contrast). Good luck in the challenge. |
