yesterday, today, tomorrowby bspurgeonComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: What a great sky (especially that cloud just above the sea on the left) and the moving figures are marvellous too. I really like the highlights on the sea beyond the figures.
Critical stuff: I do like the vignette but I think it could be a tad darker, also this is one of those images that I think would look even better with a little added grain.
Overall: Lovely stuff. Well made. |

southern california #5by bspurgeonComment by tome: I love the flare... looks like when you squint your eyes in sunlight. Also interesting is the horizontal "brush stroke" crossing the diagonal flare.
But anyway... after reading your comment, everything on this image looks like a pelican. :) |

southern california #5by bspurgeonComment by jomari: I'm afraid I can't find your pelicans - what a shame. I like the flare. It looks like s strong gust of wind blowing up a stream of snow. |

transitionsby bspurgeonComment by ubique: This is beautiful. Everything inhabits just half of the frame, and yet it must have the other half in order to breathe. The photograph lives right in the rarefied zone between literalism and impressionism; I half close my eyes and it teeters toward the figurative, open them again and it eases me back toward the reassuringly corporeal. Very fine and satisfying picture and in my top 3 for this challenge. Thank you. |
