Photograph a Week 2011 Thread

If you look closely and push aside the flare, grain, etc., you will see several pelicans. This is a favorite spot for a couple dozen of these birds. I have a few images to post later this week taken with a lens, and a different perspective. It's nice location, and requires plenty of rock negotiation to get to this point. Nobody else was there. Very enjoyable.

What a strange quality this has.. almost as if looking into another stratusphere.

Interesting. There seems to be more than one perspective.

This image really gets the imagination flowing. There is a road running horizontal and where the sun crosses just below is a little boy with a big hat. He is facing a little girl maybe talking. Behind the girl is another little boy trying to catch up. There are stories to be told here.

It's as if the sun is sucking it all up. Can pelicans fly?

Looks like a sitting bull to me, but no crazy horse in the horizon. I like how the flare dissects the image.

The last big rock on the right with the 2 pelicans, I thought it was a bull lying down with it's head raised looking to the horizon. Amazing moonscape spot ;) The flare is wonderful.

I love the flare... looks like when you squint your eyes in sunlight. Also interesting is the horizontal "brush stroke" crossing the diagonal flare.
But anyway... after reading your comment, everything on this image looks like a pelican. :)

I feel the light's fast movement within that flare. Pretty amazing result.

I'm afraid I can't find your pelicans - what a shame. I like the flare. It looks like s strong gust of wind blowing up a stream of snow.
