Swinging 4by timfythetooComment by slickchik: I think I'm gonna be sick! I am feeling nauseous today anyway and looking at this picture really makes me want to barf... The kid is looking how I am feeling! I love the colors and the sense of motion...I wish the swing support was not right in her face. Message edited by author 2007-05-05 21:36:13. |

A Trio of Looksby timfythetooComment by emorgan49: The way this is framed it looks like an old time movie! I can hear the tinny piano music playing. Scroll up and down to watch the sequence. one way he gets happier, the other way sadder. The three images give a great sense of how animated the kid is and also how fast they grow and change.
PS - please tell us that isnt a snake. Message edited by author 2007-05-04 14:32:21. |

Swinging 4by timfythetooComment by kashi: She totally does NOT look happy about something.
I love the bright colours in her outfit against the earthy-toned background and the black swing. |

Swinging 4by timfythetooComment by Melethia: What I like is when you shoot Rowan, you get Rowan. Aidan has become very fond of being "Aidan for the camera" (though still adorable, don't get me wrong!) but here you've got a pure reaction, not a "daddy's taking your picture" reaction. I like her seeming displeasure - seems symbolic of growing up in a fast moving world in a way. |

Swinging 4by timfythetooComment by agenkin: The sad, detached from what is happening around him, face of the child makes this shot (and the uneven lighting, to some extent). I wonder whether this is what the photographer wanted (I often wonder that). The colours are overly saturated. Overall, not bad. |

Swinging 4by timfythetooComment by posthumous: wow wow wow!! every see Francis Bacon paintings? xianart's photos often remind me of Francis Bacon. The distortion of motion has ironically created a very still, sad face, as though it were a ghost hiding in your photo rather than the face of your subject. It seems too big (and too old) to be the face of your subject. So, when first approaching this photo it seems like another happy playful motion shot, but then you are struck with that face, giving it much more impact than it would have otherwise. The composition also helps to temporarily hide the face but then inexorably draw the eye to it. Fantastic. |
