Adorable expression. Particularly good for a snapshot type image. Great DOF and it tells the whole story without a word. Almost a 3-D effect. Nice - definitely a keeper. I like that you kept it in the portrait mode as well.

Nice action and great story! The color and lighting look good. I think it does well with the motion blur. Probably it just didn't have enough "wow" for a higher score.

The clouds and the water are fantastic! That said, I really don't like the infrared too much. And I know it's not fair, but I tend to vote down these types of pictures. They just look too unnatural to me. I actually didn't vote on this one for that reason. My zen didn't do too well, so take this with a grain of salt... it just doesn't seem like a zen type picture. There is too much going on.

Nice contrast and color here. One of the first things that comes to mind when I viewed this image. You've done a nice job of stopping the motion. The image is well exposed and sharp. Should do ok with this one. Good luck in the challenge.
