Terrific action + macro combined! Very edging in my opinion. Terrific lighting. Would have been more impressed if you actual took it today, rather than through a previous entry. Still a stunner and a one in a million type of photo.

This image sort of rides the line between abstract and bug macro. Little too much detail for abstract, not quite enough for a good macro. Not sure what to think. Don't hate it, not falling in love with it. But I'm still looking at it...

I'm going to have to get a coupling ring to try this. I finally got a lens with the same thread as my 50mm f/1.7 (a 135mm). Probably won't be as good as a true macro lens (focusing distance is waaaay far), but I'd love to try it.

It's the motion on the wings here that really does it for me. While I think the subject at hand would be much better left in color (eg. it's not really a true B&W subject), you've done a pretty nice conversion. Unfortunately, a lot of the edge detail with the bee blends too well with the background because of the monochrome (where colors would have set it apart), showing that it's one of those subjects that just works better in color. IMO.

Wow, stunning capture and the depth of constrast in B&W is really great! I love the idea that we're able to capture what we want in these side challenges and feel that we've done what we wanted, rather than trying to conform to what we THINK the voters want! Kinda like getting a free pass, isn't it? LOVE this shot!
