I think that the radically cut-off buildings work really well. Often when only a small portion is missing, it all looks terribly wrong.

our councils around here are really slack when it comes to building stuff ..
we've been hassling them for the last 8 years to tar our road .. its dirt and they'v constantly having to grade it after the rain .. they said a couple of months ago that they'd do it next year .. which means they'll do it this year .. i'm not going to hold my breath . ..:)

There is something quite interesting about older bridges like this. So much character, and definitely timeless. Lovely composition with the bridge placement, and the water leading me to it. And those buildings are such great accessories, too!
