I guess we would need to see the traffic to make this more believable, also it looks as if the ponies are headed off the road rather fast anyway. Cropped it has some potential, but as is they are just too far away.

I like the ponies, but reading your title, then looking at the image with no cars, it's hard to see how they tied up traffic. It also looks like they crossed pretty quick. It does make me smile though.

The technicals are spot on--great lighting, depth of focus, and the color in the background is lovely. I understand that the broken vine represents the end of the grape harvest, but it honestly isnt that interesting. I would have used the two withered grapes in the lower right as my subject
