B & W Collectionby mia67Comment by timfythetoo: Cool shot. I love how is face is in the shadows but the light explodes out the side. Has a cool artsy feel to it. |

B & W Collectionby mia67Comment by Melethia: I had commented on your other one then it disappeared when I hit post! :-) I don't mind the background at all - I think instead it plays a good supporting role to balance the light/dark on the face. |

B & W Collectionby mia67Comment by pawdrix: I like it a lot. I looks kinda candid which gives the shot an authentic feel. Lately I've been trying to avoid heavy shadows because I always get a 50%/50% response from the love/hate camps. |

B & W Collectionby mia67Comment by bassbone: a beautiful child captured so well - i love the light coming from the side to emphasize the eye without having to 'pimp it' - i am not a huge fan of the background on the left - it seems to draw too much of my eyes attention |

B & W Collectionby mia67Comment by total_novice: The lighting really works here normally the inability to see the right eye would drive me mad but here it just draws focus onto the left.
I personally prefer this crop to a tighter one. If you crop tight to the face you'd have a little patch of white on the left that is distracting.
However in this crop the white isn't distracting and helps define the edge of his face. |

B & W Collectionby mia67Comment by Bud: I love the strong directional light. I wonder what this would look like cropping it in tightly and eliminating all of the "stuff" on the left side of the image. nice work, in any case! |
