My thoughts on the image: This was one of my favorites in the challenge. Overall, I think it scored low. When considering the field, I do not think it was a ribbon, but at least a top 5. But still, 7 is nothing to be scoffed at.

My ideas for improvement: I like the stopped action, and I really like the composition you chose. The only thing that would have grown the score, in my opinion, was better focus on the heron's eye. The wings and body are nice and crisp, but the eye seems just a bit soft to me. However, getting these guys to pose or do a second fly-by is difficult. Great capture.

Where I would have/did score this entry: This was a 7 for me, and I believe it scored a little low overall. There were a couple that placed ahead of you that I feel should not have. Even still, great image and congrats on a strong finish!
