The wind sweeps the sky cleanby NuzzerComment by glad2badad: Hmmm. Not here's an interesting take on the challenge. Nice timing on the shutter release. Will be interested in reading your comments on this when the challenge is finished for some details. Good luck in the challenge. |

Puhoi Pub Woodchooping Carnival Poster 2006by NuzzerComment by silverscreen: IMO you've created a very good poster here...
I really like your postprocessing. The tint combined with the coloured beer bottles works very well, and the two models are doing a terrific job as beer drinkers. A picture you can be very proud off I think...
I'm not sure abut the coloured thing in his hat though (might be bcause of the size here). It draws a lot of attention due to the colours, but you can't really tell what it is. |

Girl & Squirrelby NuzzerComment by Melethia: Greetings from the Critique Club
Girls and squirrels generally aren't "related" in my world, so I thought this met the challenge quite nicely. It's an interesing photograph that shows a nice, warm moment. While they may not be "related", they seem to be relating to each other nicely. Good focus, excellent color - particularly her jacket and her hair. Seems to be well-exposed, too. (And nifty fingernail decoration as well.)
How to make it better for the DPC-world? Shoot it in a studio with a solid black background and have more of the girl's face in the picture. :-) No, seriously, it probably should have scored a bit higher than it did, but was also probably viewed as a "snapshot". Snapshots for some reason are not held in high regard at DPC, regardless of the quality of the shot.
As far as composition, it does seem to be a bit cramped on the right side - I suspect this is the way the shot was framed and there's nothing more on the right to include here. To crop more off the top or bottom would lose either her or the squirrel's hair and to include more on the left would add to the cramped feeling. |
