My first impression was it was a little soft..but the eyes seem pretty sharp. It's just the nose area. I don't think it really bothers me though as I'm drawn to the eyes. Very ominous. Great detail in the hair. |

Very good image! A cat photo that is different from all other cat photos... This would make for a good stock image as well. |

I have a black cat & know how hard it is to get a good lit pic of them. The lighting is really good in this one, but I'd like to see a stronger focus on the eyes to really make them jump out at you. The softness takes away it's strength. At least yours kept it's eyes open ;) Mine always blink. |

Great capture. I wish you could have gotten a little better focus on the eyes..but still a great capture. |

Lovely cat, and so much potential with this shot...if only it was in focus. :( If those eyes and the nose were tack sharp this would be rocking! Poster potential. Best of luck in the challenge to you. |

GREAT BLACK ON BLACK! I wish the eyes were sharper, but I have tried to shoot cats before and its not easy. Definitely one of my favorite animal shots to date and one of my top rated images in this challenge. wonderful job. |

That wonderfully tight crop ensures that our eyes will become captivated by those vibrant & staring yellow cat eyes! Those bold & vibrant yellow eyes just 'pop' visually off the page and grabs our attention. The close-up also gives us some nice sharp details - such as the hair of the cat and the whiskers. |

'Just lost our 18 year old black cat Fred a couple of weeks back. We really miss him! I had taken a similar photo of him called "Macro Fred" |

Some thoughts:
-GREAT composition!! I love the framing
-I love the specs of white in the black hair
-The eyes are stunning but could be more sharp in my opinion.

I like the idea but it seems that it might have been slightly blurred, so oversharpening is apparent. |

I'm in awe. This is a fantastic shot, so much clarity in the blacks, and the eyes are fantastic. Would love to see the lighting/settings you used to obtain this shot. |
