Great shot! Just a little change: I would have rotated the picture slightly to the right. It seems a bit off balance.

the quality was so crappy because i didnt use my usual camera, but a much inferior one, and because i cropped the head out of the pic at close to 100%. I thought if I converted it to black n white and threw some grain on it, I could get an old movie effect. Anyway, this is part of a viking demon thing in a magic shop in Salem, Massachussetts.

Your choice of subject held LOTS of potential, and I even like your decision to go to black and white. Your image quality is, though, is horrid -- how is this a 95k image? Did you save it from a gif?

The black and white works well. It seems a little pixelated, making me think you either a) cropped it out of a larger picture b)oversharpened or c) didn't focus well and tried to fix it later. There are other reasons, I suppose, but those are the ones I do the most often. :-)
