But how did you get this amazing image ??? I adore the pastels and shadings and "oldness"...you are on a roll here, Alicia !!!
Oh- my kitten's name is Abby and as SandyP informed me-it means, "her Father's joy" Ironic as I used all my powers of persuasion to convince hubby to adopt...and I know he will be in love soon :)

OHOH - I love this so much. I'd love to see a version without the text on it. It is gorgeous.

Jeeeez. . .this challenge has brought out the mastery in you! I am so moved by your stuff. This one -- the song of so many of the "normal". . .comparing themselves to the clear-skinned smiles of the beautiful. . .who seem to have it all.

The illustration is awesome and fits it perfectly.

Alicia...the words to her lament..sigh-who hasn't had a broken heart or 3? is so poignant, and then hopeful (via use of the overlay), as though the author crumpled up the page (herself) but then after discarding it, had second thoughts...reconsideration of her self ("why am I thus?") as she smoothed it out

not sure I've said this well;
nicely done Alicia!

WOW ALICIA .. you really are on a roll .. some very evocative and meaningful work lately ..
a sad poem .. this line "Who from my birth was cursed with hope. " .. i would argue that hope is a good thing .. but i'd love to be able to write poetry or be able to put across such depth and meaning in words .. how gifted is 'ol' dorothy parker .. !! ..
your photograph of the flower, duly reprocessed so excellently, works extremely well with that snippet you've taken out'v the poem .. :)

To me the song and the skull just clash. I don't see them working together here. The image itself is well done though.
