Lone Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment by electrolost: I like the negative space When I first looked at it for some reason I was thinking it would look better if the bird was in the corner I see someone else thought the same. I really like how the sky looks. I also like the sepia look you choose gives ia a kind of timeless look. not sure but maybe you could of got a little more detail out of the wing feathers with some more dodging but then again I see that you probally did that already. |

Lone Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment by Wildcard: This is beautiful, the tones are lovely and I love the pattern that the cloudy sky gives the background. It's a lovely, quiet, peaceful photo. The score you got for this is absurd but that does seem to happen. |

Lone Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment by figaro: Nice shot and composition, though I think I'd prefer the bird even closer to the bottom left of the frame - personal thing. Again, this is one of those shots which is neither sharp not intentionally blurry. If the shutter were a little longer on this you'd have captured the bird's energy wonderfully, though probably scoring lower in the process. But hey, who cares about votes, right? There's some haloing around the subject that is possibly only visible on my (rubbish) laptop screen, but a bit of careful burning can make that disappear. More USM on the bird would sharpen things up again but increase the haloing. Perhaps you could have been more daring with the contrast in the sky as well... just a thought. But well seen and captured, and a photo I like very much. |

Lone Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment by krnodil: Well, you already know how I feel about this one, Rob - glad that you entered somewhere. I do like this minimalist look. It's about feeling, not about needing to see every detail. |

Grounded, Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment by undieyatch: Grounded, Flight - The title a interesting concept. Intentionally combining these two ideas in a picture, for me would be an after thought. A result of the experience and image.
Leading & waiting for the bird to fly into a scene, rather than use of the more conventional pan technique, can be a choice, but may be more often, intuitive at the time of the event.
This is an unusual and interesting image, beautiful expressive idea. |

Lone Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment by Hipychik: Nice shot...beautiful. He looks lonely up there all by himself! I like a good minimal shot like this. I think the only reason it didn't score better on DPC is the lack of detail on the goose. |

Concrete Wrapped in Fogby Bruce_the_RobertComment by posthumous: Originally posted by amathiasphoto: Also, the people are the darkest part, and with this supposed to be focusing on architecture, I think that there is to much focus on them. |
Architecture is for people. To show people in an architectural space is of supreme relevance. |
