The low POV works well with this and makes it unique from many in the challenge. It does feel a bit too close for comfortable viewing IMO and one of the key areas of a portrait (the eyes) is a little dark in this photo.

Yup, definately not a shot you can revist in the field and retake! Where you shooting RAW? am sure a re edit will help give the bark a little more bite ;) I might even rotate it a touch then crop till you lose the white on the bottom right (the rotation would be to keep the birds tail in the shot).

It took me a couple seconds to notice that it was a bird back there. So it was like "seeing" the photo two seconds after seeing it. I like the composition and the crop.

There's only one thing I'd like to see messed with. I'd like to see the tree darkened up a tad to give a little more contrast with the white background. The tree looks a little washed out.

Nice reflection, but I think the composition is throwing me off a little. Maybe if the geese had been closer together. The fence? in the upper left corner also seems out of place. The reflection is very nice, though. It does look like they're getting ready to scrap.

Good sense of composition - nice to have filled the top half of frame with something, rather than going with the temptation to isolate these two. It has something interesting to say about the structure of duck/goose, too, almost like an architectural exposition of three-quarter view and head-on.

nice easter egg in this shot in the background, I almost missed it. i will agree with you that it appears flat, maybe bossting the contrast with levels or USM could help that a bit.
