The Darkroom Chroniclesby GunnsiComment by nlghttrain: i really like this idea, but there is too much red, I think if you wanted to go with the red tint to the image leave off the red border or vice versa |

Playing for Jesusby GunnsiComment by Jutilda: Holy place? Maybe a stretch as it is more about her and the cello, than the church, but it is a terrific candid image. But maybe any place that she plays is considered holy to her or even a listener, so an "out of the box" definition might be in order. I like that it gives a scenario and we know where she is and what she's doing without a word being used to explain it. I agree about the frame - none, or possibly a black one I think would have served you better. I like the hair in her face and her concentrated expression. |

Playing for Jesusby GunnsiComment by Rebecca: Hi Gunnar!
As a portrait, I like this quite a bit. The concentration on the model's face is lovely. A bit more sharpness would be nice, and a crop that doesn't cut off the end of the cello at the right. I am also not crazy about the color of the border. I appreciate and agree with the impulse rein the photo in with a frame, but I think the mahoghany color pulled from the cello was the wrong choice since it's too warm of a tone against a cold gray. I slightly darker gray would have done the job and remained unobtrusive, I think. That said, I didn't really feel like this totally met the challenge. The girl is obviously the main character, while the cross in the background isn't even in focus. The "Holy Place" is too much of a supporting player when it should have the lead role. |

A Winner?by GunnsiComment by Melethia: Good lighting, interesting game baord. The border kind of unbalances the picture a bit. |

il musicistaby GunnsiComment by pidge: This would be even better if both the medel and the girls face were in focus. A smaller aperture (larger number) will help this |

il musicistaby GunnsiComment by Spork99: I think the idea is there, but aside from the presence of the instrument, the image tells me little anout the person.
There's something weird going on with the colors too, are the wall and the bricks really that color? |
