Keep this one around to put up for Halloween! I am finding it very tricky use defocusing to get a blurred picture and still have a worthwhile subject instead of just an out-of-focus snapshot. This is technically good, artistically wonderful, and a valuable contribution to the "sharpless" topic.

Excellent and abstract. I would try shooting a few at small aperture and stronger flash to see if I could get the eyes to "star". The OOF blur would be difficult though at smaller aperture. Maybe if you use a star filter, or piece of brass screen over the lens it would would get the effect.

Since the eyes were out of focus it captured the bokeh circles it generated.


that is utterly amazing!! just by not focusing you get that effect? wow, I have to go think about that one for a bit...thanks for the feedback.
