With that mind set, the thumbnail and title attracted my attention as a possible image of a musical saw done in a creative way. Of course, opening the image reveals not that, but instead a well-captured slice of life from between two buildings, and a very nice black and white conversion too. |

The way the people fit in between the two vertical framing lines gives a sense that they are being directed and forced somewhere, and they have no choice to go where they want to. However, the curves that are apparent in the CONCERT sign and in the steps gives an opposing sense, that freedom is present and anything can flow where ever it likes to. As does the road in the background that runs nearly perpendicular to the large vertical pillars in the foreground. The black and white gives a nice timeless quality to the photo and I feel that the crooked orientation works beautifully. Very nice. |
