Shooting with Imperfect Glassby DrAchooComment by undieyatch: Very good optical progression..... I should have scored this one higher. fyi ...5 Some minor distractions for me include: disregard for the full frame, - what ever it was or might have been, ie. the obvious tight crop around the subject (it may be traditional but I usually like fullframe); it has, for me a uninteresting commercial (throw some money at it) quality (Imperfections included), Anchor Hocking might use it as a stock image; it's representative of a slick dpc style that does well, is ment to sell, but usually has no dirt - EddyG is a master of this.
Technically excellent. |

Multnomah Falls, Oregonby DrAchooComment by undieyatch: fyi 7 exceptional for a waterfalls..... as the environment remains as the subject - the water though captured possibly a bit slow is subliminated or at least visually balanced by the beautiful hillside. |

Fairy Falls Outtakeby DrAchooComment by LeeD: Great shot Doc! This is a great example of a "centered" shot working very well. The shutter speed is perfect and gives a very surreal feel to the image. I am a huge fan of "misty falls" pictures. The greens also add an interesting element of color to the image. Did you shoot this on shutter-priority, aperture-priority, or manual? I think the shot is very well composed, but my only nitpick is the borderline/slightly blown highlights at the top of the waterfall. A little tweaking with the aperture/shutter speed in manual would've easily fixed that. Personally if I were voting on this image I would easily give it an 8, maybe higher. |

Caught in the Middleby DrAchooComment by Strikeslip: Holy smokes, it's hilarious, I love it! Your daughter is far too cute, however, and is therefore a distracting element ;-) I'm going to have to copy you & make a shot like this with my girls! One of my favourites! |
