This is the first challenge where I'm a little worried about "going to the well" one too many times. I don't want to be recognized just because I only have my family to take pictures of. Kudos to my wife who is not usually a willing model.

This is the "funnest" picture I've entered and I won't be disappointed if it doesn't do well. I wasn't worried about the technicals as much as I was trying to capture a feeling.

Post production was mainly concerned with getting the three panels to look similar. Lots of level work in that regard. Minor cloning of a crease in my background.

Good catch by the few who noticed that Laine's face was blue. I had the adjustment layers screwed up and I had done a mask on her face to lighten it. I think I forgot to readjust that mask after I used the channel mixer to convert to B&W. I used the blue channel heavier than the others and it wound up showing. Luckily not too many people spotted it, but as soon as WonderBread made the comment I knew exactly what had happened and had to stare at it the rest of the week.

Very clever use of triptych. Nicely done. One question, why is your daughter's face a bluish color here? It extends into her hair as well? Congrats on your 22nd place finish.

5 - Good, but a 'personal' type shot. Criticism; not much, you did well and I am sure this on your wall will be forever a classic. Again, it is a 'personal' shot though. Fun shots, reminds me of a shampoo/soap/family 'something' ad. Perhaps also in this case, slightly thicker framing may have also given this a little 'extra', not sure. Up to 5 from 4.

Haha, very cute. Graphically, I think I'd prefer a bit more space between the photos, but I realize you're confined to a relatively small space for challenges.

Holy smokes, it's hilarious, I love it! Your daughter is far too cute, however, and is therefore a distracting element ;-) I'm going to have to copy you & make a shot like this with my girls! One of my favourites!

Boy do I know how that feels. I don't think I look quite as nice as she does suring it though. :-) I probably look like i just had my finger in an electrical socket. Good Luck.

I think that I know exactly what you're trying to portray here. My boy is 5 1/2 and my girl is 2 1/2, and I often find myself in this situation.
Very nice fit in the challenge, nice choice of b&w, and the only thing I would have experimented with is perhaps the thickness of the frame. It seems too thin (the frame separators at least.) But I like it nevertheless.

the facial expressions are too artificial in my opinion , looks like a cute version of an otherwise very nice idea - the lighting is pleasing

Doc this is very cute! I love the look on your wife's face. BTW, in case you were wondering how I knew that this was yours... well, let's just say that your wife's earings gave it away. Caden and Laine are growing up fast :) Good show and edfinitely worth blowing up and putting this up on your mantle for everyone to see :) I'm a sucker for family shots so you get a solid 8!

Cute! My wife and I feel like this quite often. :-) Nice composition. Looks like the little girls face is a little too blue. Getting the tonal qualities in sync on all three pictures would have made it a stronger picture. Seems the contrast is different across the pictures as well.

no way would you be doing that with those cuties- they have angels written all over their faces!!! ;0) Clever idea! I must say your daughter looks blue?!? This is weird, I can't be that tired.. 7 for now :0)
