contrasting elementby thorgilsComment by SJCarter: Really beautiful composition and lighting. There appears to be an odd shaped lighter area around some of the objects (that looks like processing remnants) that is distracting, but that's really the only thing I can find negative about the shot. Very nice job overall. |

Big Branchby thorgilsComment by ZorbaTheGeek: Great focus and bark texture, the lighting on the subject works well. A little too much of the background is visible though and draws the eye away into the image. Shallower DOF would have helped a lot |

Big Branchby thorgilsComment by rwouthuis: I think the lightin at the time of the photo was working against you. There are a couple of hot spots on the tree. Maybe some warmer lighting and a little less DOF would allow us to focus on the texture of the tree a little more. |

contrasting elementby thorgilsComment by vonautsch: The offcentering to create the empty black space doesn't really work for me in this photo. I do like the soft lighting on the objects. |

Big Branchby thorgilsComment by olddj: IMO, the main focus (the center of the branching) has too much shadow, slightly different lighting would help this |

Sorry, I'm all tied upby thorgilsComment by KiwiShotz: This is really hard to get any depth of field when you get this close in isn't it. Perhaps that and the very flat even lighting just works against it a bit |

contrasting elementby thorgilsComment by birgir: There are some soft tones over this photo that I don't like. And the thing in the midle (silver ball) is distracting. |

contrasting elementby thorgilsComment by Beagleboy: From my understanding of what high contrast image is, this does not fit the bill. It's very dark throughout with the slightest of light on your subjects. I find this to be a dark photo rather than a high contrast photo. |
