The actual shot is a nice sharp capture but could be improved by a couple of things. Firstly, I think you should level up the horizon, or make it really really wonkey, so it looks like you've done it intentionally for drama. Secondly, I feel like there should be more space to the left and right of the birds to give them some room to fly into, as the crop is too close for comfort in my opinion there. Finally, I think the composition of the image is too horizontal. What i mean is that everything forms horizontal lines across the image, with no real vertical variation, which creates an un-exciting composition in my opinion.

This is unfortunate that it got buried deep in the ranks. I personally gave this a 9 for the simplicity and "drama" of the image itself. the lighting and DOF are perfect.

I agree with rasdub on this one. On the full body shot I said the background was distracting but now I'm thinking that it just competes too much with the boy. In this one it's more of a compliment to him. Plus I just really love his expression in this one. Might just crop a tab bit off the top??

Great title & shot. I meant to comment on this during the challenge, but ran out of time. (BTW: I scored it a 7) Great emotive performance shot. Love the colors and dark overtones. Looks like it's in a high school gym or something. Very young, grungy, hip feel. Nice job.
