Charlie, I don't know whether or not you own a flash, but here is the sort of place I often find one useful outside. The sky behind her is very bright. If you had exposed for that sky your lovely subject would have been under-exposed. As is, you exposed for your subject and so the sky is a bit blown out. One solution to this problem is to use a flash outside. You could then expose for the sky and take your photo. The flash would help you to light up your subject while exposing for that bright sky. There are other solutions of course... but I just thought that information might be useful to you. |

Walkabout-Oct-3.jpgby joynimComment by EstimatedEyes: Great colors and concentration! I might consider cropping the left and right sides a bit, so just the horizontal lines are in the background. Looks like you both had a blast on your walkabout. Thanks for playing! |

Walkabout-Oct-2.jpgby joynimComment by EstimatedEyes: As others have said, the processing takes this ordinary scene and makes it something else, but it took your photographer's eye to see the potential in the first place and snap the picture ... which was exactly the point of this challenge. Great job taking something ordinary and making it extraordinary! |

walkabout-Oct-1.jpgby joynimComment by EstimatedEyes: Nice idea with the triptych, and a good subject as well. Another way to handle this would be a panorama photo with the three shots stitched together ... I like how you can see parts of the other churches in each of the photos. Nice start to your walk! |
