composition is fine. the focus is good and the lighting and exposure are ok, though there is a bit of surn on the eagle's head. the image seems flat overall and could benefit from a kickup of saturation/contrast. the bland, overly large frame accentuates this flatness.

It's a nice texture, well photographed. The problem is that it is JUST a texture. Some sort of focus of interest, maybe a larger rock, or a feather, would have made this a 10.

Nice clear shot that certainly meets the challenge. I wish there was a little more variation in color, but the border adds to this image nicely (it's B/W on the outside, right?). Really good DOF too. This one takes some examination (and I'm afraid it will probably be overlooked by many viewers/voters) to really appreciate it. Nice work. Bumping up.

I do like this shot, kind of think the eagle looks a little fake.

Obviously it's not etc, but the colours in the feathers seem to blend together too much and the head is a little too sharpened. Did you select the backgroud and blur it a little? 8
