While I like all the elements of the picture, (the subject, the arrangement, the textures, the monochrome treatment), here is what I think detracts from the whole. If you draw a line down the center, top to bottom, the right half has no real interest. It is just a continuation of elements from the left, and doesn't "become" a negative space. Having all the interest of the subject weighted to the left usually effects one's subconscious as darker, or awry, or discordant. A mental diconnect. This effect does not seem appropriate to the subject, and to my eye, detracts from the overall effectiveness of the picture. A different cropping might make all the difference.

like this is BW and my only nit would have been a slight change in your POV to your right and losing the bit of shadow on the upper left corner.

very nice tones - the layering works very well to make each ordinarily bland texture stand out

Lovely idea ... textures are strong.... however, I think it would be better with chair on a less busy background. (It doesn't stand out enough).

begs for color to make it interesting, the background, the chair, and the bread are nearly the same in color and texture

Wow, this is great... definately a mundane subject that pops right off my screen! The subtle differences in texture between the floor, chair, and bread is what makes this an excellent photo IMO.
