Lucretiaby GermaineComment by cogerox: Wonderful high key shot. Plenty of contrast and detail. Actually, I like the composition created by all three boats, and all three are in the sweet spot. Well done. |

Clean-Upby GermaineComment by Melethia: Has a nice sense of end-of-day to it. I like the busy. The barstools give it a foundation and the rest is there for me to wander about and enjoy. |

Centeredby GermaineComment by Melethia: Love the placement of the hands on the shirt. :-) And toe clips - don't see a lot of those these days as most people have the nifty pedals and special shoes. Though toe clips let you wear your regular shoes when you get to where you're going. |

Lucretiaby GermaineComment by Germaine: Originally posted by bobonacus: Thats a very nice shot, very peaceful ... you should try cloning, it's quite easy for something like this as the water doesn't need to match up too well and its a great tool for removing stuff there is no other way to remove.
I did this in about 3 minutes.
Used a clone brush of about 80 pixels at first with a hardness of about 50%. Took some water from the left of the boat and cloned the hull out in 2s. Used a much smaller clone brush, 8px, with hardness of 100% to remove the mast from the hull of the boat, I zoomed right in and lined up the clone brush with the brown and white border and then the same with the blue white border. Same small brush to get the mast out.
Same principal with the boat at the rear, lined up the clone brush with the horizon to make sure they matched .... the whole thing took less time than writing this, it's a little crude and could be done better with the original and a little more time spent :) |
Thanks, Robert. I thought about cloning, but figured there was too much fiddly stuff. I'll give it a shot over the weekend.
