 Doodling with Photoshop. The shot itself isn't so great, but I liked the movement of the figures.

The overlays are two layers of seaweed blended, with a final layer of sea sand in pinlight. (That's what gave the "sparkles".)

Looks like the world is on fire. It does look like beach wildfire. Great overlay effect.

or jogging through the crater of a volcano? SO much movement in the fiery overlays that the runners themselves look slow. I want to say "Run! Hurry up! the pool of lava id growing right behind you."

Yes, this really gives the sense that there's a roaring bonfire nearby. I can almost feel the heat!
