Swinging Foot Bridge Entranceby SJCarterComment by alexgarcia: Great capture of a dangerous bridge. I will not cross through it, be sure...LOL. Composition is very good: the bridge, the trees and the mountains lead the view to the same point. Textures are OK, but it seems oversharpened to me, especially in the border mountains/sky. I'm not sure, but maybe using gaussian blur will help you to improve that borders.
But that are only PS questions (that can help you improve, anyway). But the most important thing is to have the EYE, and I think is clear you have it. |

Harsh Realityby SJCarterComment by alexgarcia: Very nice shot. The composition is great, as there are leading lines that guides the view to the subject of the photo. Colors are wonderful, but a little bit pastle the color of the bricks for my personal taste. The details are great on yourself. Definitely a grunge portrait. |

Divining Rodby SJCarterComment by divadaedalus: I live on the James in Buchanan and this is a spot on shot of how the landscape feels in winter at about 5:30 in the morning. Greeley and I were fortunate enough to see a red tail hawk riding the thermals at dawn on a day just like this. Jimmy, I don't know about your contest rules but you captured the spirit of this place we call home PERFECTLY. Gerge Washington saw the same view when he surveyed Natural Bridge. Thomas Jefferson described it in his journal, and Lewis and Clark loved the topography so well one of them married a local girl on their way back! My Great Great.... grandparents may not have had a digital camera when they left Ireland, but they would recognize what you did in this picture in their hearts! LOL MMM |

Just Passing Throughby SJCarterComment by Jutilda: I like the familiarity this brings. The lights really make the shot for me. WE can all relate to trains and this one coming out of the tunnel is symbolic on many levels. People can analyze train dreams all night long too... this is a classic!! Well done. |
