Very vivid color, and I love the fly detail. It truly does make the humble fly look beautiful. The only part I didn't like was the blue tinging on the leaves. It looks as if there might me too much contrast given to the image, or perhaps too much tonal mapping. Still, love the image and the dof is really good.

this is a great macro shot I love the lines and it looks like the litte guy is posing, my only critique is that the white lines seem just abit overexposed and have lost detail, still a great shot :)

Maybe I'm unfamiliar with the idea that butterflies landing on you are faerie kisses. I like this photo, although this close in I'd crop it to zoom in on the butterfly.

But I don't see how this meets the challenge. 4.

I like this shot a lot and I'll be interested to see how it fares once voting ends. My first reaction was 'where was this for Black and White in Color'. Very cool lighting and dark feeling to the shot. The one thing I don't care for here is the vertical rope leaning to the left. It throws the picture off balance and it creates a problem for the eye by making the horizontal metal shaft 'appear' to be not quite horizontal. Other than that, really nice shot. Hope it does ok.

The whole color scheme is almost pushed to the edge, but not overly so. I like the vividness and detail of Mr. Fly.

Flys are actually kinda pretty now that I think about it. I love that irridescent sheen. You are getting good close ups with that 18-55!
