IMG_8226B 720.jpgby SJCarterComment by Jutilda: That sound when the gun goes off (yeah, they used real guns with blanks back in the day, not the electronic beep they have now)and the smell of it in combination with the water's splash and chlorine up your nose. AAAAAH - memories. I love the sense of movement. |

IMG_8235B 720.jpgby SJCarterComment by Jutilda: I can smell the chlorine from here. Back when my dad was a college swimming and diving coach, nobody wore wetsuits. NOBODY. Sometimes during state high school meets the guys would shave all of their body hair, including their heads, but a wetsuit? No way.
I love the reflection of his goggles (they didn't wear them either). It was a funny smelling environment in an enclosed gymnasium with an over chlorinated pool and tons of guys in Speedos. The first time I took a HS friend with me, her jaw dropped. I thought that's what all guys wore. ROFL
I appreciate so much the nostalgia this image brings. The juxtaposition between the opposing arms is cool too. This made me smile. |
