Ya know, this is fantastic of the butterfly and it's great contrasts. I personally am not crazy about the crop though. I think it would be much more impactful if you moved him toward one corner. Just my 2 cents - beautiful shot.

Perfect. This not only meets the challenge in every possible way, but it's really a feast for the eyes. I love the very strong black and white in the butterfly, as well as that bit of a branch its hanging on (looks like the butterfly is suspended by one wing).

A little overboard on that gaussian blur filter, huh? It's a very good photo, but I might have preferred the original to the fuzzy edges. Try the lens blur instead, and you won't get a glow around your selection. That dark spot to the left of the purple flower is kinda annoying. Excellent focus and light quality on the remainder of your image. 7

Nice composition and wonderful simplicity.
I would imagine you will have had a few comments regarding the oversoftened halo effects. I actually like it in this image but some voters will probably lower your score because of it...hope not.
