Acornsby MelethiaComment by skewsme: Hi! I sure owe you some comments.
Glad to hear you could at least amuse yourself while waiting for the carfolk. Boy, I've owned a lotta lemons and been there, ayup.
I like your photo.
my critique: If this were mine, I'd skew it such that the curblike structure were more on an angle, maybe about 30 degrees so that the acorns are aiming towards the middle-ish. Then I'd rough up that rough spot on the concrete to the right, dodge and burn to exacerbate it. Next I'd use levels or selective color to de-harsh the whites in the highlights a little, and then, redden the browns of the acorns a little. Possibly use shadow/highlights to bring out that lovely broken acorn. Well, now you have an idea of how I achieve my stinker scores, haha.
to dpc the photo: remove all noise, sharpen, put the curb-thing on a third line. neat image again. sharpen until acorns are pointy. now put the head of a pretty girl staring at the camera in the center of the pic... oh, but make sure one of her translucent blue eyes is where the thirds cross. sharpen. diffuse glow.
