This is an excellent image. It would have been a good entry for the "diagonal" challenge for sure. It's quite abstract, just color form and motion, which is a nice disconnect from the usual static capture of a split second.
I like it too, as I see others have commented.
Good title too. It really fits the scene.

I forgot to tell you why this pissed me off. I took a similar shot, i.e. leaf on road, but it sucked. that's the whole story.

the texture here is different than any other elephant shot I've seen. It's so smooth. this tight crop on an elephant's face is becoming almost a dpc cliche. yours is one of the best examples, but I still wonder what this would be like pulled back a little. ah, maybe not. you captured the sadness you saw. what more is needed?

excellent portrait. perfectly exposed face with all detail, and surrounded on all sides by nice textures. topped off with a great duotone conversion. but most of all, a person worth looking at, captured at the height of his glint.
