Accidental leafby MelethiaComment by posthumous: I forgot to tell you why this pissed me off. I took a similar shot, i.e. leaf on road, but it sucked. that's the whole story. |

Elephantby MelethiaComment by posthumous: the texture here is different than any other elephant shot I've seen. It's so smooth. this tight crop on an elephant's face is becoming almost a dpc cliche. yours is one of the best examples, but I still wonder what this would be like pulled back a little. ah, maybe not. you captured the sadness you saw. what more is needed? |

Gentleman fiddlerby MelethiaComment by posthumous: excellent portrait. perfectly exposed face with all detail, and surrounded on all sides by nice textures. topped off with a great duotone conversion. but most of all, a person worth looking at, captured at the height of his glint. |

Ode to Joyby MelethiaComment by Jutilda: Still waiting for you to make this into a print so I can buy it. One of your best. Truly glorious in movement and tone saturation. |

Gutteral Brownby MelethiaComment by skewsme: Yes, you did get the saturation just right. I don't understand why the cruddy 4 and below votes. I didn't vote in brown but perhaps like the sticky challenge, the topic put voters in a lousy mood. However, you got a nice full histogram with lots of high votes too :) The focus on your leaf is so nice. Maybe they didn't like the blur on the right? I guess that could be creatively cropped but it really changes the composition. Gutteral? Ha! Ach! Ich haben a laugh over that, you Deutscher you ;-) |

Emma in Germanyby MelethiaComment by Jutilda: Wow - did you plan on the grey/blue theme? I love how the background (doorway? window?) has the same color as her fur and eyes. Nice set up, Deb. the DOF is spot on. I might crop just past her shoulder at the bottom. She is such a beautiful kitty! Glad she's agreeable with her new surroundings. The whole set up seems to suit you guys. |
