5.52 Then and nowby MelethiaComment by Ecce_Signum: Oh, I love the old Beetles (almost bought a new shape beetle but saw sense and got my ickle Brabus). I used to sell Beetles and MG's and think the best I owned was the 2002, never found a split screen though :(
I do like the crop you chose here and whilst the reflection is great if the car had been a new shape Beetle it would have been sooo much better.

1.52 Smoke breakby MelethiaComment by Ecce_Signum: A really well chosen moment to shoot him (oops that was a pun). Everything seems to fit together as if it were placed there by you.
Am sure there are lots of stories to be had from this single image - nice work ;) |

5.52 Then and nowby MelethiaComment by wickee_one: This looks like a very cool car. The perspective adds interest and makes me want to see the rest of the care. The b&w definitely goes along with the age of the car. |

1.52b Smoke break reeditby MelethiaComment by wickee_one: Melethia, I like your edit as the detail in the uniform brings more attention to the young man who is the focus of the picture. There is such a solemness to this picture. I like it. |

5.52 Then and nowby MelethiaComment by twmax: I see you're getting some mixed reviews on this one, but personally, I like it. Rich tones, and the grout lines in the floor add to the interest for me. I do think the reflections are nice.
It's funny that so many people have had experiences with the old bugs. I learned to drive in a brand new 1965 bug that I think my dad paid about $2,000 for. It was a really good car. |

1948 Bugby MelethiaComment by nixter: How cool! I love the rear window on these older bugs! One thing I've discovered with pic's of VW's, is for some reason they are very difficult to convert to B&W!? Maybe it's the colours they came in!? They do like a bit of acid though! ; )

1948 Bugby MelethiaComment by Jutilda: I like this one too. The starkness of the back lighting adds to the presentation of the car. |

5.52 Then and nowby MelethiaComment by Jutilda: 48?? Holy cow. I didn't know they went back that far. I've said a million times that I learned to drive stick shift on a 64. I love the way they drive to this day. Terrific angle and the touch of sepia really adds to the nostalgia of it. |
