I love how the back lighting frames his head, almost like a halo, which is quite appropriate for any one of our soldiers :) It's so nice to see such relaxed enjoyment on a guy. Comforting in light of the extreme sacrifices soldiers are called on to make in the course of their jobs.

Feeding timeby MelethiaComment by SandyP: Oh how I love this photo. I love how you have shown the person without a face. Somehow, it makes it more personal. . .maybe more universally appealing for some reason. The photo touches me because I see the same look in the eyes of the geese and ducks that I see on "my" geese and ducks at the park every day. They are almost like beloved pets. The black and white processing also gives the photo that urban look that I love so much. I just keep looking at it, and I like it more, the more I look :)
