I have spent some time looking and thinking about all 3 versions. I really just like them all because it is a really telling shot any whichway. The original is not blah - the sepia foreground tones are lovely and warm, and the green theme in the opposite windows serves to separate them from and avoid competing with the main foreground composition, and also provides a little information; on the other hand the bws look like classic war journalism - the first subtle, the second having a nice clarity. Definitely a Photo of the Year.

I love this edit. It looks like a color Lith process with the harsh highlights and shadows, and is very dramatic

This is really cool, it is difficult to tell if the trees are in front of or behind the birds, normally foreground blurring is really distracting but here it emphasizes the sharpness of the birds. Very cool

Love the reflection. The DOF is awesome, especially with how sharp the coot is. Great lighting for stark contrast.

Oh wow, that is a wonderful photo! I love all those repeating patterns! The one thing that strikes me first and foremost is the "cleanness" of this shot. Everything is so clean and symmetrical. I guess it is my obsessive compulsive personality, but it just looks awesome to me! I would change absolutely nothing about this photo.

I really like this black and white because of the strong tones. The boots and her pants especially because they are so dark and the whites of the pigeons and water. I also like the mystery of the crop as Sandy mentioned. At first glance something didn't seem "right" about the conversion but I can't quite put my finger on it and now that I've looked at it longer I can't tell! I want to say it was the birds or the ducks in the water looked oversharpened and then noise reduced..or maybe the opposite...noise reduced and then over sharpened? Anyway, it is probably my imagination because the more I look at it the more I like it.

This is a very interesting shot! I love the fact that it is both abstract and - whatever the term is for the opposite of abstract. The detail in those pigeons is just amazing! I love the foreground branches being oof too. Very neat photo!
