A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment by GuGi: IMO the colors are too warm for a what is meant to be a cold picture. He seems to be either inside or just outside for 2 minutes. Other than that, I like the composition - good balance. |

A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment by Artifacts: If tonality in the shadows and nowhere above the midtones is used to define low-key then this image is the perfect color low-key picture. The detail is phenomenal and the image is well composed/framed. Technically, it is top notch. Hope there isn't a color bias in voting and this image gets the ribbon it justly deserves. |

A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment by pcody: The colors look off. I kept looking at this and wondering why I was resisting liking it. It is well exposed and nostrils don't bother me as much as some other people, so that was ok. It's the lack of any visual clues as to him being in a "bitter cold" environment. He actually looks warm and comfortable.
I think this would be improved a lot as a duotone. |

A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment by Louis: Not quite low key enough. Duotone would have made it better, as would b/w with more light/exposure on the face and less on the ruffle, in my opinion. |
