To me the diagonal is not very strong in this image, only the line of the 3 musicians. The horizontal line from left to right caused by the conductor is stronger.

How far were you awy -what was your focal length?
Thanks Barbara! Pretty far away, maybe 30-40m... I recently got a new lens for my OM System camera, 100-400mm (which is 200-800mm FF equivalent). This was probably taken on the far end of this range. Incredible magnification and decent optical quality for its relatively modest size.
