focus on infinityby LevTComment by bohemka: Sick photo. Very, very cool. I would have liked to have seen something IN focus to see that you missed focus, but this is such a great photo. High marks. |

focus on infinityby LevTComment by Leo: I like the out of focus aspect of this image. The sweep of the blur, the sun above the horizon, and the silhouette of the person creates a dramatic photo (at least for me). |

Deposition of Maryby LevTComment by salmiakki: Lev, this is a wonderful shot. How lucky that you happened upon it. Right place right time for sure. Like the analogy to the Deposition of Christ. Very apt. |

Deposition of Maryby LevTComment by LevT: Michelle, while it is not possible to tell from the photo, she is indeed coming down, that's why it's called "Deposition of Mary" (allusion to the classical theme of "Deposition of Christ" by Fra Anjelico, Raphael, Rubens, and many others)
as for the guy laying down, unfortunately I only noticed him in the photo... :) Typically these side structures are tombs of rich and/or famous people, but it looks like there the body was embalmed and preserved for all to see. Or maybe it is just a statue of him ... I don't know... As I mentioned before, in Mexico, they have an odd relationship with their dead. Message edited by author 2010-06-01 02:12:50. |

Deposition of Maryby LevTComment by colorcarnival: That statue is gorgeous. Is she going up on the pedestal or coming down?
I'm quite curious about the one behind them. Who does it represent and do you know why it is laying down? |

premonitionby LevTComment by Melethia: This would work so much better if his tank top didn't have all that printing on it! But it is indeed a wonderful catch of a very sweet moment. |
