One of my favorites for the challenge. Technically, really sub-standard for DPC. However, the challenge theme is met 100%. This is a posterchild image for how an excellent shot of a shoehorned subject (I go to mountains on my weekends, I look at bugs for my weekend, I enjoy dogs/cats/mice/snakes/gerbils on the weekend) can surpass otherwise perfectly fitting but poorly executed shot.

Best of luck to the little fellow!

Hooray for the boy!! He was able to focus on his balance even with his mom running next to him, screaming at the top of her lungs, trying to scare the bejesus out of him! That's the way to train them!! :)

IMHO You should have cropped out the flowers in the front, and the blue sky seem fake or artificial to me.

Echo what Pug-H said - the lighting on the woman's face is much brighter than the rest of the image and the upside down effect is not so appealing. A much wider frame/crop might have helped a bit also.

Comment by Pug-H:
I guess it didn't do too well because of the upside-down aspect, and the way the woman's contorted face looks by being upside-down (and the strong light that falls on her face). Perhaps, also, the way the man's arms are cut off on the edges.
